About the Client
Vattenfall is a European energy company with 40 000 employees and produce electricity and heat from six different energy sources.
Challenge
The aim with this website was to follow the progress of the Lindell family as they attempted to reduce their everyday energy consumption and reach the goal of producing less than one tonne of carbon dioxide emmissions throughout their stay at the experimental house, set up for this purpose.
Solution
Fröjd developed a middleware interface between Vattenfall's smart meter readings of the house's energy consumption and the visualisation of these values on the web. The front-end interface was developed using Flash/HTML/CSS and JavaScript and the back-end was a web service client, custom-developed in PHP.
Final result
Daily meter readings were aggregated, averaged and displayed on the website, visualising the energy consumption data to accompany Vattenfall's publicity campaign.
